Maty Almost is Dead

The entity known as Maty Almost was dumped lifeless into the sea off the coast of Long Beach about 3 years ago. The vestige washed away and a creature known as C-Fish which was a starting identity dating back almost 20 years emerged. The writing still exists. Though the band article column will now be called Fish Tank. It’s not the end of an era, but the evolution of one. Continue reading Maty Almost is Dead

An Open Letter to Punk Rock

Dear punk rock scene, What in the actual fuck? I thought you believed in change and freedom. Yet when I post about the plight of Leonard Peltier or Mumia Abu Jamal (men you eductated me on) the engagement is little to none. When I make complaints about Nazis, racists and other such parasites hanging off of you, you only get mildly angry. I know we’ve lost so many and things haven’t been the same since Joe died, but we we’re fueled and angry during Bush and damned of we didn’t fight that. But you fell strangely silent during Obama. I … Continue reading An Open Letter to Punk Rock

Fashwave… wtf?

So a fellow blogger jenny devildoll mentioned this to me. We thought it was a joke. Musically it is, but that’s where the laughter stops. I chose to look it up. Boy, was I in for something. I honestly was expecting 80’s new wave with nazi lyrics, which would’ve been better than what I got. So it’s unclimactic EDM by artists such as cyber nazi and others whose names I can’t remember. Other than being a musical holocaust the lack of lyrics left me wondering what the message was after the first song. So I checked a couple more tracks. … Continue reading Fashwave… wtf?

Morning after in America

So on Tuesday 08NOV2016 this country elected Donald Trump as president. A man who is a caricature of every negative statement about America, white males and the Republican party. Not that Hilary was a good option. It was Lizard Queen versus the Great White Nope. The options were pure shit and people couldn’t stomach the idea of another Clintonoid after millennials went in droves to third parties. There is a positive about these results. The underground has been massively complacent over the past 8 years. This should shake everyone awake much like G.W. and the last Clintonoid did. I am … Continue reading Morning after in America

Contagion Inc.

How Contagion came about. One lifelong Stockton punk and one born and bred So Cal skate punk who had been voluntarily brain washed by the great and mysterious Doctor Strange. Not the comic hero but a deranged man who runs a record store in the foothills of the Inland Empire. Well this diseased mutant known as the C Fish came to swim in the cess pool known as Stockton for a few years. One wasted day on a back porch fueled by mind melting punk and societal resentment an idea was born. C Fish now resides in the filth ridden … Continue reading Contagion Inc.

Maty’s Corner Special Edition: A Call To Action

Many recent events have unfolded that have caused the Klan and varying Neo Nazi factions to have put punx on green light. They are on a warpath im Southern California. Those who wish to stay in the scene will need to answer that. Not all must engage in combat, but all must support such drastic actions. This may or may not go wide, but let’s make our distaste of bone heads go wide. Kick em outta the shows, tell em to kick rocks if they try to roll up on you. If you dress “punked out” you are now wearing … Continue reading Maty’s Corner Special Edition: A Call To Action
